Al Ain Museum is presenting a diverse range of cultural, creative, and interactive activities throughout May, offering visitors of all ages opportunities to engage with heritage and explore new forms of learning through hands-on experiences.

The museum continues to host the temporary exhibition “Harat Al Hosn: A Landscape of Memory” alongside a series of special events marking International Museum Day, reaffirming its role as a space for education, exchange, and the celebration of culture and community.

Children become young museum curators, designing their own miniature gallery they choose an object inspired by the museum’s collection, then arrange it in their small exhibition with descriptive labels.

A temporary exhibition highlighting aspects of traditional life and community within historic neighbourhoods.

A live activity offering a glimpse into the conservation of museum collections. Specialists work in front of visitors inside the galleries and share insights into how artefacts are cared for and preserved.

 

International Museum Day Activities16 – 17 May

Celebrating International Museum Day, enjoy a two-day programme open to museum visitors that brings together creativity and heritage, including colouring illustrations inspired by the museum’s collection, redesigning a traditional majlis inspired by old wooden doors, and designing a tote bag inspired by Harat Al Hosn. Alongside a creative walk for photographers and artists – registration opening soon.

 

Build Your Fort With LEGO4 – 5 May
9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Using LEGO bricks, visitors discover the history of Sultan Fort, built in 1910, and reconstruct its walls, entrances, and defensive features.
Craft Your KeychainThroughout May (daily, except activation days)
9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Visitors use acrylic beads and charms to craft their own keychain inspired by museum artefacts and branding.
